StagePro Academy students are to visit the BBC studios in Manchester today to watch the Alesha Dixon Street Dance Stars show.

Alesha Dixon is launching her brand new series Alesha’s Street Dance Stars which is due to air on the CBBC channel later this year. Formerly known for salsa and samba style dance but this new CBBC series is focusing on the street dance moves such as popping and locking.

The judging panel will consist of Lizzie Gough, Kenrick Sandy and Turbo – one of the UK’s most versatile street dancers having danced with a string of artists such as Madonna, Will Smith and Whitney Houston.

Starting with 24 dance troups being narrowed down to 9 and then finally just 3 crews for the big finalé.
